What's Involved?
What is a Dance/Sports Injury Assessment?
A podiatry injury assessment provides effective diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management for pain and injury in the lower legs and feet.

It is specifically geared towards understanding the sport-specific contributions to injury and how that relates to each client's individual skill sets, strengths, anatomy, areas for improvement and history with injury and activity.

What does the assessment include?
Your podiatrist will ask questions to gain a better understanding of the events leading to injury, usually activities, required footwear, your injury history, medical history and more!
Range of motion testing, strength testing and functional movement testing (where appropriate). Technique assessment may also be completed depending on the nature of injury and ability level.
Gait assessment with video, treadmill and pressure plate analysis.
Education on individual risk factors, injury prevention factors, symptom management factors and return-to-performance timelines
Short, medium and long-term management plans with the view of achieving a smooth, safe and time efficient return to performance.
Treatment and pain management modalities such as musculoskeletal laser therapies, shockwave therapies, sports taping, dry needling, mobilisation, strength and conditioning and massage.
